La Serena, November 8, 2023 – In a heartfelt day filled with learning and awareness, the Unidos Contra el Cáncer Foundation held a notable prevention activity at Gabriela Mistral High School and Jorge Alessandri School in La Serena.

The event featured an outstanding presentation by René Ramos, Chief Oncology Nurse at La Serena Hospital, who shared valuable information on the importance of adopting healthy habits and early detection of possible cancer-related symptoms. The active participation of students and their interaction with the speaker created a conducive environment for learning and awareness.

A special moment during the day was the moving participation of Camila, a brave young woman currently undergoing rehabilitation after her battle with cancer. Her testimony served as an inspiration and reminder of the importance of prevention and the ongoing fight against this disease.

Under the motto “Prevention before Prevention,” the aim was to instill awareness in the student community, promoting healthy practices and lifestyles from an early age.

The day concluded with enthusiastic student participation and engagement with the guest speakers throughout the session.
